Frequently Asked Questions

Bohemia Overlook—your event destination

Part of our commitment to you is making your day go as smoothly as possible; in doing, we have included some of our most frequently asked questions to ensure that you understand what to expect.

What are your hours of operation?

While we have office hours, we keep a flexible schedule to accommodate our guests.  Please contact us to schedule an appointment to visit the property to ensure we can devote our full attention to you.

What can I expect during a tour?

Your tour is the perfect opportunity to see all of your options and all we have to offer here at Bohemia Overlook in a relaxed environment.  We don’t believe in high pressuring such a huge decision here!

When you arrive at Bohemia Overlook for your scheduled tour, please follow the signs to the Office and park in the roundabout out front.  We will meet you inside—but be sure to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes!  Most of our time will be spent outside touring the grounds and exploring the wealth of options Bohemia Overlook’s three venues provide.

How far in advance do I need to book my date?

Availability depends on which venue you love the most, which day of the week you prefer, and what season you book for.  While Saturdays during peak season usually book one year or more in advance, if your date is flexible we always have wonderful options and even awesome promotions still available for the current year too!

Can I hold both my ceremony and reception on site?

Absolutely!  Most couples here at Bohemia Overlook enjoy the convenience and beauty of an onsite ceremony.  Included in your venue package for no extra fee, we provide ceremony chairs, choice of one of our custom built ceremony arches, plus ceremony set up and take down by our staff.

Are we required to use your preferred vendors?

We offer the freedom to use any vendor, aside from caterers, that you decide are best to bring your wedding dreams to life. However, choosing a caterer, from the variety on our approved list, is required. We have vetted all caterers on our list, which consists of approximately 15, and they encompass many budgets and tastes. We know the catering cost, taste and service are the 3 most important factors for a successful event, and we want your wedding day to be perfect. Please don’t hesitate to ask us for our help in choosing one of these Caterers.

Do you offer a Rehearsal? Is there an extra fee for Rehearsals?

You are provided access to the grounds for a one-hour Rehearsal before your event.  Rehearsals are scheduled Monday through Thursday (with limited Friday availability) and must end by 5pm.  There are no extra fees—your rehearsal time is already included!

Are there any places to host rehearsal dinners?

Our very own, Blue Elk Winery or our Barn Loft are both great spaces to host your rehearsal dinner or post rehersal wine tasting. Call or email to find out more information and availability.

If you are looking for a Restaurant, may we recommend a few in North East: Steak & Main, Woody’s, Wellwood & Unwined.

What is a Walk-through? How far in advance can I plan my walk-through?

Your walk-through takes place one month before your event and is a time to walk the grounds and iron out the essential details necessary to create your vision of your event.  You will meet with your vendors and our staff on site to discuss details and expectations for your big day.  As coordinating schedules with vendors can be a challenge we always recommend planning your walkthrough as far in advance as possible, typically three months before your wedding.

Can we begin setup the night before?

You can access our property at the start of your contracted event time only.

Can we come back the day after our event to clean up?

You are given one hour after your event for clean up, décor take down, and vendor load out.  You must complete clean up before your contracted time expires.  What goes up, must come down and you are responsible for your own items and décor.

Can cars be left overnight?

Of course!  We encourage all our guests to celebrate responsibly.  All cars must be removed from the property no later than 10am the following morning.

Is there lodging nearby?

Yes. There are several hotels conveniently located near our venue with easy access to I-95 that allow you to reserve rooms for discounted rates and can provide room blocking for your event.

Are you pet-friendly?

Yes!  Your furbaby is welcome to take part in your special day.  We can recommend excellent wedding day dog care services as well– we want to ensure all guests have fun, especially the cute furry ones!

Do I need a Day of Coordinator?

While hiring a Day of Coordinator for your wedding at Bohemia Overlook is not required, we highly recommend it!  A pair of skilled hands to handle all the details and keep the event running smoothly frees you and your family to concentrate on what’s important.  It is your day to enjoy!  We would be delighted to suggest a few of our favorites from past events.
